Nice things people have said about me…

I have had the honour of working with some amazing people over the course of my career. Here are some recommendations blatantly stolen from my linkedin profile, with some context. (you can find more there).

Melanie Splatt, Product Manager

I worked with Mel at both TouchBistro & ChefHero. She came from an extensive restaurant operations background, we worked together as she grew her product management skills.

Kim is an amazing team-builder, mentor and boss. I’m lucky to work for Kim. She is an exceptionally talented Product Leader whose gifts for product strategy and vision is shared generously with colleagues. It has been a privilege and a pleasure to learn from Kim as a Product Manager for over two years at TouchBistro and Chefhero. As VP of Product, and my direct boss, Kim’s greatest strength is building and supporting amazing teams. The Product teams Kim leads are business savvy, customer-driven, whip-smart, kind, funny and committed to the cause. Her dedication to her team’s professional growth is matched by her commitment to the market-driven growth and business success of the products she helps build. Kim delivers results through fostering company-wide understanding of customers through data, interviews and relentless focus on customer feedback and solving user needs. She aligns a product strategy in a single meeting, easily gets people on board with new ideas and her ability to focus and deliver dramatically increases productivity. She clears the deck and facilitates your best work. Kim shines at helping others shine. I highly recommend Kim for any executive-level Product Management Roles. I’m one among many who’ve chosen to work for Kim more than once. She is great to work with, gets things done, and creates a workplace that is inspiring, supportive, challenging and fun. With Kim on the team, and everyone helping each other, work stops feeling like you're checking off a series of tasks with colleagues. With great product leaders like Kim, work becomes collaborating with great friends on cool ideas to build game-changing products.

Frank Caron, Senior Product Manager

Frank was a seasoned product manager on my team at TouchBistro.

Kim is an extraordinary product leader. Within six months, she was able to build a world-class product team from 0 to 10, with a complete UX discipline and a full product marketing function. Oh, and somehow, she also managed to completely revamp the way we understood our customer feedback, the way we measured our customer happiness, the way we worked with our partners, the way we planned our long-term roadmap, the way we executed in the short term, and the way we collaborated with dev. She is an incredibly passionate, empathetic, and humble leader who stands head and shoulders above her contemporaries. And while she has the stewardship to build and lead the team, she's also an incredible executor. She gets shit done, and that's why I both love working with Kim and look forward to doing so again.

Oliver Tabay, VP Engineering

I worked closely with Oliver at ChefHero where we led product delivery.

I had the pleasure to work with Kim for more than a year in a fast-paced startup environment. She is a true leader and great mentor for her team, always pushing them to learn, perform better and grow their career. The product team led by Kim was client focused, metric driven and they would re-prioritize the road map based on client feedback and the business needs. It was great to work with a product team that understands the importance of balancing new feature development and reducing technical debt, while continuously improving the process. I really hope that we will have the chance to work together again.

Jamie Schneiderman, CEO, Clearfit

Jamie and I worked closely together to define the product strategy at Clearfit.

Kim was responsible for leading both our product & development teams, a position with a unique set of challenges. In that combined role she defined the product strategy and lead its implementation. In addition, as part of the leadership team, she was a key contributor to overall business decisions, and strategy. Kim's perspectives were always fair, thoughtful and direct. I could always count on her to deliver: motivating her team, and pushing for results; she was my right hand during the 3 years we worked together. I would not hesitate to hire Kim again.

Bianca Manga, Sr. Product Designer

Bianca was on my team at ChefHero.

Kim is straight up an inspiring, driven and impactful leader. Her extensive experience, knowledge base and passion for product is remarkable. Working collaboratively and cross-departmentally, balancing technical constraints with business goals, Kim always considered the customer at every stage. But what I admire most about Kim is her integrity and dedication to building the right thing. She isn’t afraid to ask the hard questions, or say what needs to be heard instead of what’s complacently expected. Her leadership style is humble that empowers her team to be high-performing and successful. She is kind, empathetic and incredibly supportive. And like any great leader, she encourages her team to try new things, to be creative and to take risks, while nurturing a safe space to fail and learn. Any company would be fortunate to have Kim as the head of product and respective teams. She should be a role-model to many and I wouldn’t hesitate to work alongside her again.
